Ice Swimming at Nestorinranta

From the pier of Nestorinranta's sauna, you can take a dip in the ice hole. Book a sauna session or stay at the nearby Villa Hauki and walk over from there.

For ice swimming, it’s a good idea to have ice swimming shoes and gloves. A hat is also recommended, especially if your hair is wet.

Never jump into the ice hole. It’s not advisable to submerge your head. On your first time, your breathing might momentarily stop, but it will pass quickly.

For your first time, a quick dip is enough. Gradually, you’ll be able to stay longer, but even then, no more than about a minute.

You can get advice from Nestorinranta’s hostess, Riitta, if needed.

Address: Nestorinranta, Lintusalontie 1661, 52200 Puumala.
