DAY TRIP TO ROKANSAARI ISLAND
Spend a day canoeing and enjoying the nature of Lake Saimaa. The guided all-day kayak trip will take you to the Puumala archipelago, on clear waters near rocky shores. The trip will introduce you to the diverse lakeside nature of Lake Saimaa and get you paddling properly. In one day, you will paddle approximately 17 km. The trip heads for one of the most interesting geological sites in our area: Rokansaari island.
We will find out about the island’s unusual enclosed lakes by canoe and also explore the island on foot. The bravest among us may go for a swim in the lake. We will eat a light picnic lunch at the Rokansaari rest stop. We will also stop for occasional breaks in the shelter of the islands whenever necessary. We will paddle single or double kayaks, depending on the weather conditions and the wishes of the group.
The excursion is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced kayakist who want to explore the stunning nature of the archipelago of Lake Saimaa.
