We require the operator to have experience in handling a similar boat and good navigation skills. An international pleasure craft operator’s license or a certificate of completing the Archipelago Skipper Course is a good way to prove navigation competence.
This certificate will be requested when the boat is handed over. If it cannot be presented, competence must be demonstrated in another way. If it is determined that the required skills are lacking, the boat cannot be rented out. Refunds will not be issued. The boat will also not be handed over to an operator under the influence of alcohol, and in this case, no refund will be given.
The customer may cancel the reservation free of charge due to strong winds (over 7 m/s).
Rental agreement and security deposit
Before renting the boat, a written agreement is made on-site, in which the renter commits to following the rental terms.
Fuel is not included in the rental price. The boat is handed over with a full tank, and fuel consumption will be checked upon return, after which the customer pays for the fuel used.
In addition to the rental fee, a security deposit of €600 is required. You can pay it now or on the spot. The deposit will be refunded if no damage has been caused to the boat. The boat will be inspected together at both handover and return.
For minor scratches or dents, a fee of €15 will be charged. For more serious damages, the entire security deposit will be withheld until the damage has been assessed and repaired. Any remaining amount after costs will be refunded to the customer’s bank account.
A cleaning fee of €30 will be charged if the boat has not been cleaned before return.
Captain’s responsibility
The renter, as the captain of the boat, is legally responsible for all personal and other damages caused in water traffic, whether to themselves or others.
When returning the boat, the customer must confirm in writing that the boat has not had any grounding or other incidents that could have caused potential damage.
When Booking
Use a short reservation if you're booking for 4 hours or a full day.
Use an overnight reservation if you're booking for at least 2 days. In this case, the booking starts in the morning of the first day and ends at 7:00 PM on the last day.
Please note that an short or overnight reservation must also be used when booking fishing equipment and permits.
If you're booking the boat starting in the evening, enter the next day as the start date. This ensures the correct pricing for your booking. The boat will be available to you by 7:30 PM at the latest. If you want to be sure, make a separate 4-hour booking starting in the afternoon on the first day.
Sometimes the booking system acts up a bit. Usually, clearing all reservations and starting over helps.
